Nine Lives, Three Museums, Two Locations: Cats Among Art, Design and Cultures

Museumsübergreifende Führung (MARKK, MK&G oder Hamburger Kunsthalle)

This special guided tour invites visitors to take a summer stroll through downtown Hamburg—following the trail of cats in art, design, and cultures around the world. Together, we’ll walk (and take the subway) from the MARKK to either the Hamburger Kunsthalle or the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe Hamburg. Along the way, we’ll discover depictions of cats in the urban landscape. Along the way, we’ll encounter the cat as a cultural icon, symbol, everyday companion, and artistic canvas—from historical objects to modern designs. The tour combines visits to two museums with the flair of a city walking tour, inviting you to see familiar paths in a new light.
